Hartford, Connecticut and the Big Race

Saturday October 9, 2010 I ran in the Hartford, Connecticut half marathon. This year there was over 15,000 runners all together. It was really crazy at the starting line. We had a perfect day for running. I ran my race in 2 hours and 9 min. I felt really good about my race. Overall I was 2575th of 4612, out of all the females I was 1132nd of 2540, and out of my age group 30-34 I was 195th of 399. There was so many people at the finish line, that with a stroller and 3 kids Will was not able to see me or take any pictures at the end. The race took pictures of all the runners during and at the end of the race so I was able to buy a couple of pictures of me running. We also went back on Sunday and took some pictures of the finish line and the start line.

After my race we went to the Childrens Musuem and spent 2 and a half hours there. The kids had so much fun they did not want to leave.

My friends Mindi and Angie are who I have been running with to get ready for the run and it was a little crazy during the race, but I was able to get a picture with Angie and I will have to get one later of Mindi. It was so much fun to run with these awesome ladies. We got up pretty early to get our runs in but they made it all worth it.

This arch is at the center of Hartford and we ran underneath it to the finish line. And our medal that we got for finishing has the arches on it. The starting line was really crazy, we started at the capital building, the marathon and the half marathon all started together for the first mile and then we split off. On Sunday when we went back to the capital and somone had put a race number on a statue.

So I guess now that I have finished a half marathon I think that I could do one again and I might even think about doing a whole marathon........we'll see.

On the way home this is how Boston was watching his movie. Got to love this guy!

That's so awesome Kaylene! You guys are amazing. It seems like a pretty course (much better than the cornfields that lined ours). Congratulations!
