This weekend was suppose to be a really fun weekend of swimming and family fun. We went to Great Escape Lodge which we have been to before but this time was a little different. Friday we woke up to Boston throwing up, but by the end of the day he was feeling better. Then on Saturday we woke up to Carter throwing up, but we thought he would be better by that afternoon so we decided to go to the lodge, plus it was a nonrefundable hotel. The whole way there which is about 2 hours Carter was throwing up. He did not feel good. When we got to the hotel Will took Addy and Boston down to the pool while I stayed with Carter and washed his clothes and blankets. Later that night Addy woke up throwing up and then I started after her. Carter and Addy started feeling a little better when they woke up so Will took them down to go swimming while Boston and I stayed in the room. I never made it down to the pool. The only picture I got was the one that I took of Carter, I think it shows how we all felt. When the kids were at the pool they had a good time. This was going to be our last time at the Great Escape Lodge, but I think we might have to go again to make up for this one. Will is still not sick and we are hoping he does not.

Tae Kwondo
On Monday Carter and Addy had their first testing for Tae Kwondo . They started out as white belts and today they moved up to yellow belts. They have been doing Tae Kwondo since October and it has been really fun to watch them. They have come a long ways, they are both more controlled, Carter still has some issues sometimes. They have been working on hits and kicks and patterns. At the testing they did all the kicks and hits they knew and also the star pattern. You can check out the movie and they do the star pattern. Then they used one of their kicks to brake a board. They both defiantly have more self confidence. There was a time that Addy would not have gotten out there like she did today. The whole time Addy was out there, she didn't smile but she was out there. It was pretty exciting to see them realize that they broke a board. I am excited to see them continue on with Tae Kwondo and see what they can do.

Coupons!!!!
So I have always wanted to really get into coupons, but I have never really got it. Well a few weeks ago I watched a TLC special on coupons and they were saving a butt load of money and it inspired me to really do it. I talked to my really good friend Trisha who does really well in couponing. She taught me a few tricks and gave me some really good sites to look at and I was on my way. So and have been keeping an eye on the Sunday paper and websites and today I finally went out for a shopping trip. All of this would have cost $59. 84, but with coupons and store deals I got it all for $26. 22. I know I'm not great at it yet, but I think that I did pretty good. I can't wait till my next shopping trip.

Broken Arm
Last Wednesday we took Carter back into the doctor because he was still not using his arm. They took more x-rays and they found a fracture right above his elbow. I guess in kids it can take a few days to show up on an x-ray. So they put his arm again in a sling and then we had to wait till Monday and then they put a cast on his arm. Carter chose light blue for his cast and was super excited to have people sign their names on it. Carter will have to have his cast on for two weeks and then we will see. Carter is able to get his cast wet, he can go swimming and play in the tub. This was very exciting for me, because trying to give him a bath and not get it wet is not easy.

Carter, Poor Carter
Well on Monday we went to Pizza Putt and played in their play land with some of our friends. The kids were playing in the pit that has lots of balls to jump in. Boston was laying down and Carter ran and jumped and landed with his elbow on Boston's head. Now when Carter usually gets hurt he will cry for a second and then be back playing. I heard a cry that I have not heard before and so I crawled in and got the boys out and checked them over. Boston was fine didn't even cry. Carter was crying that his elbow hurt. I looked and it was already swollen. So I tried to calm him down and then we went to the hospital and I had Will look at it and he said we should get it checked out. We went to the ER and waited and waited. They asked us about his bruised eyes too. I thought in the last three weeks this kids has been through it. He slid under a car, had his head glued shut, had black eyes, then Boston hit his eye with the TV remote, Boston then hit his lip with a train and now this.
They did an x-ray and said there was no fracture he just bruised it.
I knew it really hurt him because the first few days without the sling he was holding his arm with his other hand. After 4 days he is started to use it a little. He can't put any pressure on it and he can't straiten it yet. Through it all he has had a smile. We love you Carter.
I hope this is not a glimpse of what this year is going to be like.

New Years Eve
So for New Years Eve we just stayed home and had snacks and played games. Carter and Addy really really wanted to stay up until midnight so we said that they could, and put Boston to bed. We put a puzzle together played a couple of games and then watched some TV. I was really surprised, both Addy and Carter stayed up until 10:30. It was kind of fun to watch them really try to stay awake. Will and I made it to midnight and then went to bed. We had a great 2010 and are very excited about what 2011 holds for us.

Poor Carter
So when Carter went sledding on Christmas Eve and slid under the car and hit his face, we knew that he would bruise. Over the next few days we would see just how much. These pictures that I took did not really do justis. This poor kid looked like he got punched in the face. His eyes were both black and blue, but they didn't hurt. I really hope that his eyes get better before next week, when he goes back to school.
