Cave

On our way home from Nauvoo we saw a sign that had Mark Twain Caves so we decided to stop in and see them.  We all had sandals on and no jackets so we were not really prepared but we really wanted to see the cave. 
This cave was discovered in 1819-1820 when Jack Simms and his dog saw a panther go into a cave and so they decided to go in after it.  The cave has been written about in five of Mark Twain's books, while we were in the cave the tour guide told stories about Tom Sowyer and the different parts of the cave.  We saw lots of names that were really old and we even saw bats!

It was fun to be able to get out and stretch our legs and see something really cool.  We would like to go back again and go camping there.
